Positives from 2020
For the first time in the history of the 47th we have not attended any events in 2020, it has been a very strange year for everyone across the world during this pandemic. But there have been some positives that have come out of this all this, we have managed to recruit more members (surprising I know). We have been able to make more kit for our current and new members, as there has been plenty of time in lockdown to sew.
Although we haven't been able to gather together due to the social distancing and us all being in varying tiers in the UK, we have kept in contact via Zoom and other social media platforms. This has enabled us to make our friendship stronger and our new members to socialise with the rest of the society.
The spirit of the 47th is very much alive, our recent online AGM has led to having a larger committee we have so many ideas and plans for 2021. We hope this year we will be able to attend events safely and show how much of a society we have grown. All of us miss being able to put our reenactment kit on, to talk to the public about our passion for history and deliver a good volley or two.
From all of the 47th we hope you stay safe and we raise a tankard to your health, we would like to wish you a Happy New New Year!
